I love reading books of all genre ..but Romance is one of my favorite and then add the touch of Paranormal and I get all excited to read and get carried away in to a magical realm..and Natalie did not disappoint me with this Book... the story is about two people in love and due to marry, Lady Emma and Viscount Adrian and the evil done to them by a vicious and revengeful evil enchantress's spells. Madeleine turns them into immortal beings and causes them to forget each other and their love for centuries..we watch as they meet again and wait to see if good will over come evil, will love conquer all ???? I won't tell how it ends, but the journey your taken through is well described and detailed.. It would be a pleasure to read another of her wonderful books in this series.. An Eternity of Roses (The Valthreans #1)is a story you will enjoy especially if you love romance and paranormal mixed well and served up with a touch of evil and mystery..Well Done Natalie G. This book was amazing! It had all the elements of a well written fantasy and romance. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy romance, suspense, fantasy, culture, and history.
A well written story that held my interest through the entire book. I'll look for more from this author.
I am a huge fan of the author's Eternelles Series...eagerly waiting for the next book with much anticipation and excitement. In the interim, it was brought to my attention that An Eternity of Roses was not your normal "romance" novel. Admittedly, I have been hesitant to read this book because I am not a fan of the romance genre...no offense to anyone, it just isn't my thing. What a mistake that was! I loved this book! It's a vastly rich tale that travels through time with beauty and wonderment at every turn. A fantasy story of witchcraft and eternal life; of secret societies and evil cults; of magic potions and deadly poisons; and, most importantly, a love story that spans the seas of time. Oh and there is some hot, steamy "romance" thrown in there too!

An Eternity of Roses is truly a tale for fantasy and romance readers alike. With lavishly lush details that magnificently describe the time periods, it was so easy to get swept away by this epic tale. Mystery, intrigue, fantasy, adventure, and romance, this is story not to be missed.
An Eternity of Roses is a sweeping, epic tale of the undying power of true love. On the cusp of their happily ever after, Emmaline and Adrian are ripped apart by an evil witch who wants Adrian for herself. Emma never gives up the search for the man she loves, despite years of hardship and heartbreak during her quest. An Eternity of Roses is more than just a book to read, the amazing imagery lets you immerse yourself in the story and experience every single low and high right along with the characters. I also liked the secondary character Max and look forward to his book, A Lifetime For Revenge.
A sweeping, lavishly descriptive tale written in the style of high-Victorian Gothic romance, with fairy tale elements that provide a paranormal twist. An Eternity of Roses spans the Regency era to modern day in a story of cursed lovers destined to live an eternity apart.
This book is not your typical fast-paced, plot-driven Paranormal Romance and may not appeal to those who dislike highly descriptive writing styles. It read more as a historical romance with a twist.
I loved the story's concepts and the world the author has created, and some of the side characters, especially Max and Madeleine were intriguing, but for some reason I failed to really connect on that visceral level with the hero and heroine. Perhaps it was because they spent so much of the story apart, or because it felt as though neither of them ever truly grabbed their destiny by the horns and fought back until so late in the day. The plot dragged for me at times, seeming to get bogged down in minutiae and back story, and in the latter half, I found myself skipping over many paragraphs hoping to get to the meat of the action.
Having said that, the story is very well written and highly imaginative. Although a stand-alone story, it leaves the door open for future stories in the Valthrean world.
I was delighted to find such a fresh new take on romance. This book is a delicious read from start to finish. The heroine, Emma, endures a great deal throughout the story. The hero is very gallant in the beginning, but suffers a great deal through the book, giving us a classic Gothic hero twist. I really enjoyed the idea of the Valthereans, being immortal, and living through different time periods. We get so see our heroine, Emma, moving through different time periods--from Regency England as Lady Emma to World War II as an army nurse. She keeps searching for her lost love, Adrian, as the decades pass. The villainess is also very well done, and her lust for the hero and her use of socrery to separate him from his true love creates a truly haunting, Gothic romance with plenty of dark notes to delight the reader. Also, the writing style is very poetic. A must read if you love romance, time travel, or period drama stylized writing.
